On March 26 the CHAD State Board unanimously voted to bring on a 24th member agency. We warmly welcome Angels Among Us.
“We are so pleased to expand our family with the addition of Angels Among Us,” said Michelle Grossman, President and CEO of CHAD. “Now, donors have even more ways to make an impact all across the state when they give a gift though CHAD.”
“Next year marks Angels Among Us’ 20th anniversary, and we are incredibly proud of the critical support we’ve provided to pediatric cancer families across Nebraska. As we look to the future, we’re proud to announce our new partnership with CHAD—a collaboration that will expand our reach, amplify our impact, and connect us with even more families, donors, and supporters throughout the state,” said Joel Friesen, Angels Among Us Board Chair.
“The Mission of Angels Among Us is to provide financial and emotional support to pediatric cancer families living in or being treated in Nebraska for their disease. Much like angels, CHAD provides critical services and support to nonprofits focused on health. Angels Among Us is very excited for the opportunity to work alongside CHAD to meet the needs of these families in a more impactful way. It is just a win-win partnership,” said Susie Nelson, executive director of Angels Among Us.
Nebraska ranks #1 among the 12 Midwestern state for the number of pediatric cancer incidences per capita. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, life seems to stop. Expenses don’t. That is where Angles Among Us come in.
Over the last 17 years, they have supported nearly 700 families, covering close to $5 million in expenses. But most importantly, they have helped those families read bedtime stories and play board games—without the all-consuming worry of paying bills.
